Tao Te Ching, Paperback – January 1, 1994, First Edition, Stephan Mitchell. This book looked at me from the footwell of my friend's passenger backseat while I was resting before a Tae Kwon Do tournament. Good thing I looked back! And picked it up. It may have been among the first things in this world that spoke to me. And did it ever. A MUST OWN. Repeat: MUST OWN. Let this gem of truth and light into your heart. You won't be sorry! :) The link below takes you to the 1994 paperback edition, but if you can find the same edition hardcover--wow!! Pass on the 2006 updated edition--I don't know what Mitchell was thinking, but that translation went right off the cliff--the dude lost everything from his heartful original. The Essential Rumi, Hardcover – August 1, 1997, First Edition, Coleman Barks. My favorite!--In a dead tie with the Mitchell's Tao. Doesn't it seem that the first edition of some things just carries that special energy! Barks translation is the only one. You should read the story of how he came to translate it! I literally carried this book with me for two years as my teacher, guide, and companion. Irreplaceable in the history of time. Rumi's heart could light up the galaxy. Better Eyesight without Glasses, William Bates. The one that started it all. Original thinking and research stands the test of time. Ignore 3 1/2 stars on Amazon ratings. Try it for yourself. After three months of looking at the vision chart, the vision in my right eye drastically changed in an instant! So much so that it freaked the h@#! out of me and I didn't return to training for years afterward. Holy smokes! Any good traveler eventually gets back on course. Buy new--it has the vision chart: https://amzn.to/2wNeKMR
This beauty was given to me by a dear friend who one day, while in the office, turned to me and said, "Have you ever read the book 'I Am That?' I gently shook my head with intrigue knowing somehow that what I had just heard had meaning. "It changed my life," he said. And without further ado, I got me one. What a gem and what a heart we are humbled to witness in these pages. Like many masters, he did not write this; it was translated by the many discourses with questioners and offers tremendous insight into the realm of truth and consciousness. Please enjoy. 2012 edition: https://amzn.to/3c6weUx
